CGI Scripts
Below is a list of cgi script sites that I've found to be the best
on the web. They're all 5-star to me, so there's no need to rate them
on this page. Some specific scripts I've used here on this site as well
as some of my clients' sites so all recommendations are made after first-hand
experience installing them.
CGIScript.net
A wide assortment of quality scripts that are easy to install and use.
Some are free and some cost a little, but all are worth it. If you're
a web designer, consider purchasing their csScript Suite™. You'll be
glad you did!
IkonBoard
The most comprehensive and easy-to-install FREE forum I've found on
the net! This script has a self-installer that takes the agony out of
configuring the many scripts involved in making this forum run. Oh,
did I tell you? It's FREE! If you'd like to see a working example, click
on my forum link above or
HERE.
Greymatter
Journals
If you're looking for a journal script for archiving newsletters or
diaries or journals, this is the script to use. Again, it has a self-installer
for ease of use, the instructions are user-friendly and - it's FREE!
Love that. If you'd like to see a working example of this, please
CGI Resources
If you spend a lot of time looking for cgi scripts to use on your pages
(or your client's pages), this is an excellent place to start. There
are some oldies, but for the most part this is a very updated listing
and wonderfully categorized. Lots of free scripts - and some that cost
$$, but I've found many gems here.
ImageFolio
A multi-platform software product suite that fully automates the process
of publishing and maintaining your Web-based multimedia gallery. ImageFolio
supports embedded video, sound clips, photography, clipart, eBook, and
graphics. There are two versions available - Basic and Pro. I've used
the Pro version in my Gallery of designs. Not free... but a terrific
tool that fits the bill!
FlatText
On-the-fly cgi script creation for your database! All you need to know
is the fields you want to use, go through the step-by-step screens to
answer the questions and you have a customized database script that
runs in Perl! No MySql confusion for us non-programmers. Gotta love
that - and the price is right, too.
Webmaster Pack
A nice and easy selection of bennies you can offer your clients that
are easy to install, preconfigured and will benefit any web site. Scripts
include EasyForm, EasyGuest, EasyList, EasyRefer and EasySearch. It's
only $99. Trial versions of each script are also available for free.
Calendar
Matt Kruse's calendar script is another gem I've found on the web. There
are different configurations and an upgrade is soon coming. I've used
this calendar on several sites including the
American Legion Post 47's
website. My client can easily update the events on the calendar - and
I like that!
AutoRank Pro
This is the script I used for my Top100 Resources page. The Pro version
is only $65 per license but the program is well worth it. Easy to figure
out, configurable to your site design, this pretty much runs itself
once it is installed.
Authorize Pro
Now you can control access to your pages using authpro.com password
protection service. There are many options for you to configure in your
account. You can have multiple members, members can register on your
site and you can collect their information by designing your own registration
form. You do not ever need to worry about their lost passwords - all
can be done automatically.
InterActiveTools.com
Not free, but definitely high class scripts. If you have a client who
wants to be able to update their own pages, check out their Page Publisher
($99). Nice Realtor script as well. Very clean, nice results.
Do you have scripts you'd like me to review? Let me know and if I like
them, I'll include them in this listing!
Email me with a copy of
the script or link where I can download it. :)
